Multimedia flat cable for elevators

The brand-new high performance 3 x 1.50 + 2 x (4 x 2 x AWG23 FTP) + 4 x FO OM3 flatform travelling cable has been developed by Datwyler specifically for multimedia applications in elevators. It provides maximum performance and reliability in data transmission – even in harsh environments in elevator shafts. The power can be supplied via the electrical wiring and/or PoE++.

The optimised space-saving design of the cable enables customers to cut their costs. This is achieved because of reduced installation times, a lower space requirement and the possibility of integrating various power and data elements in one travelling cable.

There are many reasons why this flatform travelling cable is the ideal choice for modern elevators: the robust PVC outer sheath is designed for operating temperatures of between -15 °C and 70 °C. In addition to the four integrated fibre optic cables it contains two four-pair Category 6_A copper data cables which reliably transmit data rates of up to 10 gigabits per second over distances of up to 100 metres (in accordance with IEEE standards). Thanks to its advanced shielding the cable ensures a high level of transmission security, even in areas with a strong electromagnetic interference. Its resilient design makes it eminently suitable for Ethernet applications, including under the extreme conditions prevalent in elevator shafts.
