Fibre-optic solutions for the Dutch Railways

Netherlands

In connection with the nationwide introduction of a chip card which will serve as a personalised ticket for the entire local public transport network, card readers and payment machines were installed at over 400 train, bus, tram and underground railway stations in the from November 2006 until January 2009. Under a contract with the Dutch Railways, these were connected with pre-assembled Datwyler FO cables. Datwyler also supplied special connection boxes and FO distribution boxes. The cameras which monitor many of the machines were also connected by FO cables.
