SPE cables to UL-AWM standard
New product solution for industrial applications

Following UL registration of the Altdorf plant a new Swiss-produced data cable with UL-AWM certification is available from Datwyler: a single-pair AWG 22 Ethernet cable (SPE), suitable for transmission rates of up to 1 gigabit per second (gbit/s) to 1000 metres. This means that it meets real-time requirements suitable for Industry 4.0. Another feature of the cable is its compact design, which makes it very flexible and easier to process. With its oil-resistant, robust, halogen-free PUR sheath it is ideal as a patch cable for Industrial Ethernet applications in harsh industrial environments – from cloud to field level.
The new Single-Pair Ethernet cable is tested for an operating temperature of -40 °C to +80 °C. It provides high-quality twofold shielding for excellent transmission reliability in areas of high electromagnetic interference and can, for example, be installed in cable trays together with motor cables. As well as this the Single-Pair data cable meets the electrical requirements specified in IEC 61156-11 and the requirements of the EU Construction Products Regulation set out in EN 50575.
Other certified Swiss-produced Industrial Ethernet cables will follow. The new portfolio, which is suitable for harsh industrial environments, will be supplied with a green or black outer sheath.
