High-speed data cables with DNV certificate

Datwyler has added copper data cables for shipbuilding and offshore platform applications to its range of IT infrastructure solutions. This means that the tried and tested Category 7 CU 7080 4P and CU 7702 4P Flex S/FTP cables as well as the Category 6A CU 6502 4P U/FTP cable have been certified by DNV, the international classification society. With these cable types, users can securely transmit data rates of up to 10 gigabits per second.
All three products have a flame-retardant halogen-free FRNC external sheath (SHF1) characterised by outstanding flame retardance and low smoke emission. In the event of fire this reduces the toxicity risk, and the routes to the emergency exits are still clearly identifiable. In addition they meet the requirements set out in IEC 60332-3-24 for the flame propagation of bundled cables in riser zone areas and the stringent fire behaviour requirements laid down in the Construction Products Regulation (EN 13501-6), which in Europe must be also demonstrated for installations inside buildings and facilities.
The cables are constructed to comply with IEC 60092-350 and designed for the specific environmental conditions on ships and offshore platforms. They are already listed with well-known shipbuilders in Europe. If increased oil resistance is required, Datwyler can also supply its customers with SHF2-sheathed high-speed data cables.
