From now on Datwyler’s portfolio will also include safety cables with E30-E90 system circuit integrity which have also been tested in accordance with the rigorous test criteria of EN 50575 and which meetthe B2ca-s1a,d1,a1 classification requirements under EN13501-6.

In general safety cables are exempted from the CPR classification. In some European countries, however, proof of the fire performance classification is required, for example in Switzerland and Poland. In order to meet this requirement Datwyler has expanded its product range accordingly.

What is more, the new safety cables with their beneficial additional classifications provide advantages in the installation of escape routes, as the improved fire performance of the B2ca-classified cables increases personal safety. This is reflected, for example, in the VKF (Cantonal Fire Insurance Association) Guidelines for escape routes in building construction and the ASTRA (Swiss Federal Highways Office) Guidelines for tunnel construction in Switzerland.
