São Paulo quadruples extension of metropolitan transportation network
Brasile
The expansion of the metropolitan transportation in São Paulo – to be concluded before the World Cup 2014 – is the major public transportation project in Brasil. Besides the amplification of the transportation lines, the investments also include extension of the rail transportation network from 62 kilometres to 240 kilometres.
Datwyler is the manufacturer chosen to supply the fibre optics for the lines 7-RUBI (stations Luz to Jundiaí) and 12-CORAL (stations Brás to Calmon Viana) of the São Paulo Metropolitan Trains Company (CPTM), which will guarantee reliable data communication for the traffic control system. By March 2010, Datwyler´s local distributor Grupo Policom already delivered more than 300 kilometres of fibre optic cable.
