CITIC Tower, Beijing: Flexibly suspended

Datwyler supplied the elevator cables for the 27 elevators in the CITIC Tower, the highest building in Beijing. A specially developed cable suspension system solves many of the problems posed by the high-rise elevator installations. The mechanism makes possible the flexible adjustment of the ideal position of the elevator cables below the cabins in order to compensate for lateral misalignment and to maintain the necessary distance between the cabin and the walls.
