Fibre optic portfolio expanded

News 2024 12 Patch Cables Figure8

Patch cords are not actually covered by the Construction Products Regulation. Nevertheless, in special buildings, such as hospitals, data centres or tunnels, patch cables are increasingly subject to the highest fire protection requirements.

For this reason, from January 2025 Datwyler will also be offering its fibre optic patch cables with a figure 8 design and with Euroclass B2ca.

Fiber optic patch cables with a figure 8 design and with bend-optimised fibres are the preferred solution for many areas of application. Because they are more flexible, take up less space and are also cheaper than those with a figure 0 design (and double sheath).

Datwyler has been offering these patch cables for a few years with the common fibre types OM3, OM4 and OS2 as well as with the usual connectors, i.e. LC, SC, ST and LSH (E2000) – a comprehensive portfolio for all needs and in the proven Datwyler quality.

The new range from Datwyler not only meets the highest requirements for flexibility and performance, but also those of Euroclass B2ca. This classification makes them the ideal choice for all safety-relevant areas where preventative fire protection plays a central role.
