High-performance network for the “Pearl Gateway”

In the Abraj Quarter, currently being created on the approach to the Qatari island known as “The Pearl”, large numbers of buildings are being cabled with a project-specific solution from Datwyler. The project encompasses high-rise buildings numbers 3 to 6, each of 42 storeys, together with 30 villas, 130 townhouses and around 2500 parking spaces on a usable floor space of 60,000 square metres.
The end-to-end system solution comprises 500 kilometres of copper data cable, 28,000 Category 6 RJ45 modules as well as 18,000 data outlets. The fibre optic backbone encompasses 125 kilometres of single-mode cable, patch panels, patch cables and accessories. As well as this there are 1500 slimline wall cabinets and over 100 server racks.
